When I pluck my hands in the dirt
and feel the little blades stroke my cheek
I hope my vibrations rattle the insides of the earth and
you can feel them while you sleep
your hair invading me
like this grass I’m laying on
the brown hair
the way the stubble, when we kiss scratches me
is kinda like this grass
comforting me.
I dig my nonexistent fingernails into your back
and when we make love
I’m the Son of Nazareth
nailing my hands and feet
and the tangy smell of your morning breath
nature’s mint weeps for me
Oh Mary
we are fragile like this grass
distracting me
I am almost asleep but then
the crushing weight of reality hits me
my head is being pressed between two metals plates
grinding into a fine dust
the universe throws it away
and when I fall I fall way down
on my knees
landing on the grass
my comfort
my safe heaven
natures hands seduce me.
