I Am A Woman

Don’t tell me I am too emotional to handle.
Don’t tell me you love me just because you love my
love handles.

Actually,
don’t ever call them love handles.

My body was not made for you to hold on to.
Grab onto.
Pound into.
If my body is all you want to handle,
then you don’t have respect for women.

I am a woman.

Don’t tell me I am too needy to handle.
Don’t tell me you like it better when I’m independent,
then get mad at me for not texting you back,
right away.

Actually,
don’t tell me you like it better when I do anything.

Do you realize that just because you like something,
doesn’t mean I am going to do it?

Silly boy.
I don’t change my life for you.

I am a woman.

Don’t tell me I am too fake for you to handle.
Don’t tell me I am fake at all.

Actually,
don’t ever use that word to describe a woman.

You say you like a girl natural,
but say I’m lazy when I have no makeup on.
Lazy when my hair isn’t done.
Lazy when I’m comfortable in my own sweats.
In my own skin.
In my own body of a woman.

I am a woman.

I am not better than you.
I am not worse than you.
Yet you still can’t settle on being,
equals.

Why is that?

  1. Wonderful, positive message. Every young girl, and woman needs to read this!
    love this passage-

“Don’t tell me I am too emotional to handle.
Don’t tell me you love me just because you love my
    love handles.”
