Did You Know the Secret to Great Skin is Reducing Your Stress?

Nurturing your inner peace will directly increase not only your success but your happiness.

Let me guess… your home and job take up a lot of time. You are busy. So when we add to this other ventures such as second careers, kids, maintaining your health and fitness, you may be not only busy but stressed as well. Stress is the main cause for people to end up in counseling.

I have spent the last 24 years exploring how to cultivate inner peace and reduce stress. Why have I spent the last 24 years exploring the in’s and out’s of inner peace?

Maybe just one example will help explain that question. I had terrible insomnia brought on by stress. And with travel—I traveled a lot for work as a fashion model—it was exacerbated and the less I slept the more stressed I got. And believe me, as a model I was worried about getting my beauty rest.

Picture this:  It’s night time, I’d think to myself, ‘Time for bed I have a big day tomorrow.’ Two hours later, I’d be lying in bed thinking, ‘Ready to sleep now, anytime now, still can get 6 hours in, that won’t be that bad.” Four hours later, I’d still be telling myself good things like, ‘No problem, at least I am resting,’ while my anxiety would be building. I’d be wired like someone just plugged me into an electrical socket.

Can anyone hear me on this one? How do you think I felt the next day? Yep, you guessed it, tired and even more stressed! Not a fun cycle to be in. I searched for ways to reduce my anxiety. Some of the techniques I found I still teach today.

The importance of reducing my stress to raise my success really came to light one time when I was requested for a major commercial casting. It was for a Japanese client who was willing to pay exclusivity rights. I used stress reducing techniques to reduce my stress the night before and again in the morning. With my new found peace I was able to perform well on the casting, and I landed the commercial and soon was off to Japan to shoot. My previous experience with Japanese clients was that they don’t joke around when it comes to work and are not afraid, in the least, to work long hours.

The stress reducing techniques were super helpful the night before the shoot. I was able to get my rest! Good thing. We shot the commercial in one day. We worked twenty-three and a half hours straight. (I had to focus on putting one foot in front of the other.) Yet the commercial was finished in one day. There is no way I could have pulled that off. What turned out to be one of my highest single paydays of my career, if I had not reduced my stress before.

Why does this pertain to you? What do you think people complain about most in the business world? It is not their salary. It is their tension, their anxiety and their fatigue. In other words, their stress.

Experts estimate that up to 90% of disease is stress-related. And for those of you interested in your own beauty what I am about to say is particularly meaningful. You may want to open your ears for this one.

Nothing ages you faster, internally and externally than high stress.

Reducing your stress is the answer. Find your beauty from the inside out.

What do you have to do?  Minutes a day of relaxing and centering practices. You don’t have to sell everything and move to India and meditate all day. You just have to take a few minutes a day of relaxing and centering yourself, of finding your inner peace. Doing so not only calms your mind and reduces your stress but also increases your physical and mental performance. These relaxation and centering practices increase your productivity, alleviate your tension or worry, help with your sleep problems, your high blood pressure, or fatigue, and even your depression.

Talk about bang for your buck!  Increase your mental and physical performance! Get more done! And in a calmer way. Sleep better! We all know that anything is possible after a good night’s sleep.

Are you ready to be more energized? To be happier?
