Murmurations Inside and Outside

inside
an echo makes home
silent murmurations are
octopusessed in my veins
burn frozen frescos, tattoos
into my heart, an unleashed fear
smirks en masse, a rogue writhing
vermin slithering
through my veins
into the chambers
of my heart, caged

outside
an autumn
in twilight sky
shimmers bright
extravagant shadows
starling of myriad forms
a waltz in borrowed shapes
tunes of intertwined destinies
bringing home miles in motion
one whole being stitched together
pulsating into a carnival like spectacle
a Parisian ballroom opulence, embroidered
into an aerial chandelier, swallows whole the sky
then the ballet stops a starling flutters, descends weary
to her demise, throaty echoes tumble over clouds grumbling
